My Passion
I am passionate about whole-person healing, involving all parts of yourself. While I use an evidence-based approach to therapy, I offer you the option of integrating faith and spirituality as part of your overall care.
As I have served as both a therapist and pastor, I can also offer Christian counseling for those who request it. However, I work with anyone regardless of your faith tradition or your life choices and will work with you using your beliefs.
I am also happily married and a proud father of two energetic boys!
My Qualifications
I am a licensed (clinical) marriage and family therapist in Maryland (LCM754), District of Columbia (LMFT200001211), and California (LMFT 111604). I have a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy, and in addition to being a former professor, I have been counseling individuals, couples, families and groups since 2007. I am also a certified professional coach.

Our Approach:
'Treasure Therapy'
You don’t have to feel stuck in disconnection.
I help people rebuild emotional intimacy—with themselves, their partner, their family, or even with God. Whether it’s the grip of shame, cycles of addiction, or a quiet fear that things won’t change, I believe healing starts with understanding your emotions—and having a safe space to be honest.
My work is grounded in experiential approaches like Gestalt therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychodrama. I specialize in relationships, sexuality, spiritual integration, and the way habits—especially hurtful ones—can impact the people we love most.
Along the way, I created something called Treasure Therapy—a model that sees the beauty and dignity in every person. It’s a way of working that meets you where you are, while still moving toward healing and growth.
Here’s what you can expect when we work together:
-
A safe, trusting space to talk.
-
Support in identifying patterns and insights.
-
Collaboration around possible next steps.
-
A deeper sense of peace and possibility.
-
A clearer picture of your strengths—and how you’ve adapted along the way.
We’ll take a whole-person approach, looking at four areas: our relationship as therapist and client, the systems you’re part of, your personal story, and how you relate to others. If spirituality is part of your journey, we’ll explore that too—with curiosity and care.
And together, we’ll rediscover the treasure in all of it.
